Many long-term apartment rentals will include water, electricity and telephone costs, while others will require you as the tenant to pay these charges monthly in addition to the monthly rental fee.

If you are looking for a long-term rental it is advisable to enlist the help of a local Barbados real estate agent as they can be helpful in finding the type of property that meets your requirements. You will need to advise them of the length of time you would like to rent an apartment for, the number of people occupying the apartment, and your monthly rental budget. For short-term rentals apartments average from $75 to $500 US per night, depending on the amenities and features available.

For those on a lower budget you may be able to get a short term self-catering apartment. These will be basic apartments and may not have amenities such as a swimming pool within the complex, but if it is located near the beach then this may lessen the concern. These budget apartments are ideal if you are coming to Barbados on a water sports holiday/vacation and will spend your days in and around the many water related activities and are simply looking for an apartment that is clean and comfortable to rest at night.

At the higher end of the market you can rent a luxury beachfront apartment in Barbados, which will be decorated to very high standards with the best in furnishings and interior design. There are many newly built apartments within condominium complexes, which range from 1-bedroom basic units to luxury appointed penthouse suites with state of the art technology such as DVD players, direct dial telephones and high-speed wireless Internet access.

You can also choose to rent an apartment tucked away from the busy south and west coasts, or choose an apartment complex with amenities that include a swimming pool, bar and a restaurant on site. This way you can either be self-catering or eat out without leaving your apartment complex.
